Data Institute Training Projects
Data training On March 9, two Grenoble Alpes Data Institute training projects were selected within the first round of the IDEX training call amongst 65 proposals.
The call “Pedagogical transformations and Learning-by-doing platforms” aims at strenghtening the training programs of Idex’s partners, increasing their international visibility and encouraging students’ sucess. On March 9, 2017 the list of the 40 funded projects was published. The total amount of funding is 2,8 million euros.
Led by Jean-Baptiste Durand, the project DATA Challenge will promote Data challenges as tools for training. The project will create a repository with challenges and a pedagogical unit for animation and counseling, around the Masters training SSD, MSIAM, MoSIG, SIGMA , and the IUT STID.
DATA@UGA is led by Adeline Leclercq Samson. The project is organised around four key actions : communications, networks, learning-by-doing, and dissemination and support. Activities will include the promotion of training courses, the organisation of various networking events, challenges, hackathons, and workshops.
Finally, “Optimisation distribuée pour le Big Data ?” (distributed optimisation for Big Data) focuses on the development and extension of a new interdisciplinary education in mathematics and computer science for data sciences. The core consists on workshops during the ones students use real massive data, with state-of-the-art Big Data technologies, and for sophisticated numerical and mathematical treatments. The project is led by Jérôme Malick.
